Are you dreaming of wedding reception entertainment that goes beyond the usual dinner and dancing? You can add many reception entertainment options to your reception for the ultimate guest experience. Not only does this add some extra fun to your wedding, but it also gives your guests something to do when dancing isn’t the preferred choice of activities. Here are some of our favorite suggestions for your wedding entertainment plan.

Photo Booth

A photo booth is a familiar idea, but what is notable is all the different types of photo booths to choose from! There is a
photo booth for everyone, from 360-degree videos to fantastic prop options or interesting vehicles! One of our favorites is the
Pickle Jar Photo Camper, a sweet retro camper converted into the cutest mobile photo booth.

Magician

A magician is a fun way to bring some childhood whimsy to your reception! Magic acts engage a crowd and are fun for all ages. A fantastic local magician from Anacortes is Elliot Hunter. Check him out for a fun addition to your Wisteria Gardens wedding.

Caricature Artist

A caricature artist is a fun activity that can be happening throughout the entire reception. The activity keeps the crowd entertained, and the drawing also makes a great wedding favor!

Comedian

Love to laugh? A comedian can provide a fun break in the reception. Look for someone local who you enjoy, but make sure that their style and content match your audience. You do not want to offend guests or expose children to adult content.

Team Mascot

For die-hard sports fans, an appearance by a favorite team mascot can be a fun addition. A mascot will know how to amp up a crowd and be a great photo opportunity for the couple and their guests.

Bouncy House

Bouncey houses are not just for kids! The playful addition will be a lot of fun for a “young-at-heart” crowd. There are even options that come in wedding white! Before booking one, make sure your venue allows this type of entertainment.

Karaoke

Does your crowd like to sing? Do they have a sense of humor? If so, a karaoke portion to the reception could be fun. The key is to limit the time for serenading so that it does not overstay its welcome. Some DJs will have a karaoke option to add to your music package.

Tattoos

A temporary tattoo station is a fun way to entertain your guests. You can have your wedding logo made into a tattoo and then have a variety of other tattoos available.

Wine Tasting

Washington has a ton of unique wineries, and a wine tasting is a great way to share your favorites with your guests. It allows guests to taste various wines and learn about Washington wine varieties.

Dance Instruction

Is your crowd a little shy on the dance floor, but you have always pictured a dance party reception? Bring in a dance instructor to get people out of their seats! Giving instruction will help your guests feel more confident, and it is entertaining.

Live Painting

A fun wedding trend is having a live painter capture a special moment during the reception. A live painter is comfortable having people watch them work and can entertainingly interact with your guests.

Mixologist Lessons

Signature cocktails are trendy at weddings, but why not take it further and have your mixologist demonstrate how they are made? You can pair this with a mini drink mix favor and send your guests home with a new skill and the ingredients to test it out. If your venue does not allow hard alcohol, you can create unique cocktails with wine or champagne as the main ingredient!

When choosing special reception activities, ensure they fit the crowd you have invited and meet all of your venue’s contractual guidelines.

Your wedding should be an event that matches your personality; for some couples, dinner and dancing are not enough. Having other forms of entertainment gives your guests more options for activities and can reflect the couple’s interests.
