The area in which you will get ready on your wedding day might not be a top priority on your venue list, but at Wisteria Gardens, we have two lovely getting ready spaces for the bride and groom that are just as special as the rest of our venue. Today we want to share all the details about these getting ready spaces and how the bride’s room has been remodeled in the last few years to make it even more welcoming for our couples.
Bride’s Room
Wisteria Gardens is a rustic chic venue, but our bride’s room is pure luxury. We renovated this space with a desire to create a private sanctuary that offered a sense of peace as well as elegance on this potentially stressful day. Our recent brides have loved it.
Since the bride and her attendants spend much of their day in this room, we wanted to ensure it was comfortable and used a color palette that was ideal for applying makeup and capturing those perfect photos.
In 2020, we completely gutted the room and recreated the space. We started by repainting the green walls with a neutral cream. We heard from makeup artists and photographers alike that soft and neutral is best!. We also removed the old floor tile and replaced it with a warm wood tone flooring.
After changing the basics of the space, we turned to lighting and furniture. The original chandelier was pretty, but old-fashioned for our vision. We searched for a perfect chandelier to light up the room and flow with our new elegant design. We settled on a more modern piece installed close to the ceiling, which floods the room with light.
The bride’s room did have a built-in countertop, but it was tiled and the grout needed some attention so we decided to give it a refresh. We removed the counter entirely, eliminating the wooden post legs, and replaced it with a floating custom quartz slab countertop that we then paired with new padded stools for a more lux look. A new sofa, side chairs and coffee tables were also added to move away from farm chic into a more feminine and elegant aesthetic.
Finally, there was not a good option for changing in private. The bathroom is directly adjacent to the bride’s room but we wanted a more convenient option for our brides. We installed some curtain tracks on the ceiling and had a beautiful custom curtain made in a ruffled material with a bit of sheen. Anyone who needs a place to change can step into the corner of the room and close the curtain. It is roomy enough that even the puffiest princess dresses can fit behind the curtain!
These changes were accompanied by small touches such as a new rugs, artwork, and mirrors to transform the room into a luxurious retreat for the bride and her attendants. We hope you will feel completely glamorous during your stay!
Groom’s Cabin
Sometimes the groom’s area is an afterthought at a wedding venue. Since less time is spent getting ready compared to the girls, it is often a small space with little personality. We believe the groom deserves at least some acknowledgement for his part in this special day. We have reserved an entire log cabin built from trees off the property for the groom and his groomsmen. It has a casual comfort and is filled with character.
With so much time being spent on the property the day of, our groom’s cabin is tends to be the perfect place to relax before the wedding. Set apart from the event barn, the cabin has ample space to play poker or hang with your groomsmen. There is also plenty of outdoor space surrounding the cabin for lawn games.
The cabin’s decor is rustic and fits the overall farm aestetic. Often couples will use the gracious porch for photos or signing their marriage license because it is so picturesque. It also boasts the best view on the property. Enjoy guys!
We want your entire wedding day to be unique, and that starts with the getting ready spaces you spend your last few hours as an engaged person! Not only are you getting ready, but you are spending time with your closest friends and family as you prepare to marry the love of your life. A special place for the bride and groom sets the tone for a fantastic day, and our bride’s room and groom’s cabin are the perfect spots for those special moments.
